A group of student-consultants from Humber College will develop a thorough Project Plan and implement a project in the field of DevOps/IT/Web and app development/Data Analytics/Cloud Security.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Phase 1 - Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to understand the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project. (March 2022)

Phase 2 - Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks. The product (Code) developed by Humber students will be delivered to the industry sponsor. (May 2022- July 2022)

Phase 3 - Report and Presentation: Students will submit a written project plan. Teams will also formally present their plan in class, which you are invited to attend (virtually or in person). (August 2022)

Project Examples

Students are required to complete/implement a short capstone project in the field of Cloud Computing.

Using Project Management Theory, students will determine the breakdown of work of a future project for your organization, including project requirements, risks, costs, timelines, and responsibilities to drive the implementation process.

Project examples could include, but are not limited to:

  • Development of a new website (Node/Angular/React etc.)
  • Implementation of a new software or system
  • Analyze DevOps technology and create CI/CD pipeline (CloudFormation/Terraform/Ansible/ECS etc.)
  • understand future IT Cloud network technology and physical server setup, including physical network configuration and OS installation
  • analyze cloud security challenges and implement test plans
  • apply cloud services for data analytics etc.

Scope: 3-5 Students working 5-7 hours per week for approx. 10-12 weeks
