In this assignment, student consultants from SFU’s Beedie School of Business will develop a comprehensive product and brand management plan for a project of your choosing that you can use to execute the project successfully.
Students
Students will share a completed report (10+ pages), identifying an issue, offering an analysis (or data analysis), and recommendations.

Project Examples
Requirements
In groups of 3 - 4, students will work with you to understand your product/service goals and constraints, and will apply product management theory to develop a detailed action plan.
Project examples include, but are not limited to:
- A plan for a new product/service launch
- Innovating an existing product or product line to reach a new target customer
- Adjusting the bundling of existing products in an innovative way to reach new customers
- A plan for a client or employee event
- Assessing the feasibility of an addition or change to your product line, product mix, or service
- Developing recommendations for your organization to meet a goal or solve a challenge
- Evaluating pricing methods and the 4 Ps including the development and use of branding as a means of enhancing profitability and customer loyalty
- Analyzing documents and processes for each stage of the product lifecycle (PLC)
- A plan for a new employee rewards and recognition program
Please note: While this isn’t expected, if the project aligns to students’ skills and interests, they may be able to execute some project tasks.
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Minimum of 2-4 interactions with the students in-person or remotely (approximately 4-6 hours over the duration of the project).
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
Access to information about the history, issues and performance indicators of the brand over the past 3 years.
Be available for a detailed phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
