Continuously developing your product and service offering is essential to keeping pace with rapidly-shifting market demands. In this project, students working in teams will apply their knowledge of learning principles, memory theory, and expertise in cognitive psychology to make product and service recommendations that will enhance your products’ effectiveness, and broaden appeal to a variety of target audiences.
Students
Final deliverables can include:
1. A written Summary Report evaluating strengths and weaknesses of your company’s educational products, and offering insights and recommendations for enhanced product delivery, that are linked to fundamental principles of learning and memory.
2. A slide deck highlighting current ‘Learning and Memory’ principles based on scientific research, and offering strategic recommendations for improvement and/or a 5-minute "pitch" of a new idea to enhance product delivery and/or create new product.

Project Examples
Requirements
Students will create a written report, and visual slide-deck in which they evaluate strengths and weaknesses of the company’s educational products. Teams will offer insights and recommendations for product delivery, as they pertain to fundamental principles of learning and memory.
Student will make recommendations regarding delivery and improvements to your educational tools, that are based in current models and theories in cognition.
Project examples include, but are not limited to:
- Innovating an existing product or product line.
- Adding a new service to your existing offering that will allows optional enhancements for customers.
- Adjusting the bundling of existing products in an innovative way to reach new customers.
- Exploring competitor products to add to your portfolio.
- Considering a new category entry to reach a new market
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Provide written feedback on Milestones #2, #3 and #4, submitted by Student Groups
Provide a dedicated contact who can offer student groups a brief written evaluation of their deliverables
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
