The groups of students supporting each employer is finalized by this date. Faculty will have the teams published to start the project by this date.

March 4, 2025Student Login Activation Complete
Students in their respective teams would complete their login into Riipen platform and activate their access to view the employer page and the posting.

March 9, 2025Employer Introduction Meeting and Q&A Complete
Students with their teams will review the content posted by the employer, view the video published by them, request for a meeting the employer to introduce themselves and to set expectations on the employer business priorities they will complete during their Design Thinking Applied Project duration over the remaining weeks of the term. The student team must also publish the minutes of their meeting specifying the understanding to ensure both employer and students group are on the same page.
Student groups will use the Riipen messenger platform and also use the email addresses provided by the employer to keep them informed.

March 11, 2025Weekly - Status Reporting - START
Starting from this week, each week the student group will post a brief status report on their project status to keep employer updated. These status reports are due weekly before the end of a particular day (friday or saturday or sunday) as agreed with the employer. Student groups will use the Riipen messenger platform and also use the email addresses provided by the employer to keep them informed.
The employer will review the status report and will post an acknowledgement of their review. They will provide additional information or answer question posed and may set up a short meeting should they feel its necessary to clarify.

Starting from the week mentioned in the previous milestone, the student group will post a brief status report on their project status to keep employer updated until the end date. These status reports are due weekly before the end of a particular day (friday or saturday or sunday) as agreed with the employer. Student groups must submit their 10 minute video presentation to the employer via Riipen portal on or before this due date. The duration of the video must be 10 minutes or less.
Upon posting the solution video, student group will post a message on the Riipen portal to inform the employer of the availability of the solution video. Student groups will also use the email addresses provided by the employer to keep them informed.
The students will also make a request for a short (10-15 minute) meeting to discuss the solution with the employer and answer any questions they may have. This activity must be completed before the due date specified under the next milestone.

Upon submitting the solution video on Riipen portal, the students will make a request for a short (10-15 minute) meeting to discuss the solution with the employer and answer any questions they may have. This activity must be completed before the due date specified. Its recommended that this meeting be held at the earliest availability of the employer and not closer to the due date.

Employers will review the video solution posted the student groups, meet with each group for 10-15 minutes to ask questions about the solution and must provide feedback on each teams' performance.
This feedback must be shared with the faculty lead on or before the due date.

The students group will follow the guidelines given by their faculty to present a brief summary of the business challenge they worked on including the solution they have proposed to the employer.
This activity will be completed during class hours as per their course schedule. The faculty teaching the course will provide additional information and will share their expectation for this activity in the class.

key performance indicators (kpis) design thinking researchA group of students will review the business challenges faced by an industry partner or a company regarding their product/service/platform profitability and growth. Students will research to understand the business challenges in greater detail. They will put together a plan to revive the product/service/platform to profitability over 12-18-24 months. Students will use tools they learnt in the course, identify KPIs to measure success and develop a timeline for this execution that they will share with the industry partner or company for their review and use. The team that creates the most applicable solution may have an opportunity to support the execution as an intern for the company. Teams will be allowed to bounce off their initial thoughts and ideas and ask questions to better understand the business challenge at pre-determined intervals.

Project Examples
Requirements
Learners in groups of 4-6 will work with your company to identify your business needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis while using the course concepts they learnt from their Creative, Critical Design and System Thinking course.
Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Follow the Business Design Method taught in the course (Start-Find-Frame-Solve)
- Conduct extensive research of the industry and the ecosystem
- Identify and validate the need based on priorities of customers with empathy mapping
- Frame the voice of customers using various techniques towards alternatives
- Design/Develop prototypes to solve the business need
- Identify Key Performance Indicators for measuring success
- Recommend a plan and time line to the launch the chosen solution
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Can you provide Internship opportunity for the team with the best solution?
Dedicated person of contact - weekly to answer student questions
Employers are required to attend/review final student presentations with a Q & A session and provide feedback within 3 days
