Expected outcomes and deliverables

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 3 - Outcome: Students will submit a 10-page report on their findings and recommendations, including a plan to implement and changes to HR strategy, policy, or practices.

Project Examples

Requirements

Beginning this September, a group of 4 student-consultants will spend 120 hours developing actionable recommendations on a business plan that is related to an aspect of performance management.

Through a detailed audit, research, and analysis, student-consultants will uncover solutions to your performance management challenges. They will also carefully consider implementation requirements.

Project examples include:

  • A process to link business goals to individual performance expectations.
  • A performance evaluation program (can be design of a new program or critique of a current program).
  • An employee training and development plan, as a follow-up to poor performance.
  • A Leadership training, coaching, and development program.
  • A Variable compensation plan supporting your performance management.

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who will be available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students questions or provide additional information.

Minimum of 2-4 interactions with the students in-person or remotely (approximately 4-6 hours over the duration of the project).

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
