The goal of this project is to create a social media campaign to map the experiences of Black renters in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This will involve several different steps for the students, including:


  • Researching the current landscape of Black renters in the GTA.
  • Developing a strategy for the social media campaign.
  • Creating content for the campaign, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
  • Engaging with the Black community in the GTA to collect stories and experiences.
  • Analyzing the data collected from the campaign and creating a report.


Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:


  • Understanding of the current landscape of Black renters in the GTA.
  • Development of a strategy for the social media campaign.
  • Creation of content for the campaign, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
  • Engagement with the Black community in the GTA to collect stories and experiences.
  • Analysis of the data collected from the campaign and creation of a report.


Mentorship

Support for learners in the Mapping Black Renters' Experience in GTA project includes training, data access, technical help, mentorship, collaboration, ethical guidance, and regular check-ins. We promote community engagement, provide resources, encourage feedback, and celebrate achievements.
