Details

The goal of this project is to create a web-based tool that takes a user-provided text input and generates a visually appealing animation of the text. The animation should be dynamic, engaging, and exportable to common web formats such as GIF or WebM. The tool should be user-friendly and allow easy sharing on social media platforms.

Deliverables

User Interface (UI) Design:

  • Design an intuitive and user-friendly interface that allows users to input text.
  • Include options for customizing animation styles, colors, and fonts.

Text Animation Logic:

  • Implement algorithms for generating dynamic animations based on the input text.
  • Explore techniques such as kinetic typography, motion graphics, or other creative approaches to enhance the visual appeal.

Export Functionality:

  • Develop a feature to export the generated animation in popular web formats like GIF or WebM.
  • Ensure the exported file size is optimized for sharing on social media platforms.

Technology Stack:

  • Frontend: Choose a modern web framework (e.g., React, Vue.js) for the user interface.
  • Animation Library: Utilize animation libraries like GreenSock Animation Platform (GSAP) or Anime.js for creating dynamic animations.
  • Export: Implement functionality using libraries such as gif.js for GIF export or WebMWriter for WebM export.
  • Backend (optional): If necessary, implement a backend using technologies like Node.js or Django for handling complex animations or server-side tasks.

Responsive Design:

  • Ensure that the tool is responsive and works seamlessly across various devices, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.

Testing and Debugging:

  • Conduct thorough testing to identify and fix any bugs or performance issues.
  • Validate the tool's functionality across different browsers.

Documentation:

  • Provide clear and concise documentation for users, including instructions on how to use the tool and export animations.

Example Technologies:

  • Frontend: React.js, Vue.js
  • Animation Libraries: GSAP, Anime.js
  • Export Libraries: gif.js, WebMWriter
  • Backend (optional): Node.js, Django

Example Output:

  • The user inputs a quote, and the tool generates a visually captivating animation of the text with smooth transitions and effects. The user can then export the animation as a GIF or WebM file, ready to be shared on social media platforms.
Mentorship

Students will have access to a comprehensive set of tools and technologies necessary for the development, including a collaborative development environment with version control. Additionally, we will offer resources and tutorials on animation libraries, frontend frameworks, and other relevant technologies. Regular check-ins and feedback sessions will be scheduled to address any challenges and ensure steady progress. Access to relevant data and examples will be provided to inspire creativity, and a documentation repository will be maintained for reference.
