Details

We are looking for students interested in working with a bestselling author and illustrator to pitch new book ideas directly to publishers and create press releases.

This project is an opportunity to see the process of securing publishing work and PR for an established author.

There will also be other press release writing required for our company and clients.

We will provide mentorship and guidance.

Students should be prepared to:

  • Help us refine our pitch and story to something compelling and timely
  • Write up press releases around multiple news-worthy stories
  • Identify media outlets that are most beneficial to us/most likely to pick the story up
  • Send press releases and establish positive rapport with media contacts
  • Secure media exposure for our organization
  • Pitch stories to third party platforms and publications
Deliverables

The final deliverables should take the form of:

  • Press releases and inquiry letters that are ready to be published and pitched
  • A list of media outlets that we can partner with along with contacts
  • Communication established with those media outlets and conversations underway promoting the press releases and stories
Mentorship

We have weekly project calls, team calls, and one-on-one calls with students. We provide feedback, mentoring, and a supportive environment that promotes creativity and personal growth.
