Details

The Automotive Retailers Association aims to address the growing need for specialized training in the automotive aftermarket service industry, particularly focusing on zero emission vehicles (ZEVs). As the industry transitions towards electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, including medium and heavy-duty options, there is a pressing demand for accessible learning content and resources. This project seeks to develop an AI-powered rapid response training program that equips automotive service professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively repair, service, and recycle ZEVs. By leveraging AI technology, the program will provide dynamic and interactive learning experiences, ensuring that learners can quickly adapt to the evolving landscape of the automotive industry. The goal is to create a comprehensive training solution that is both scalable and adaptable, meeting the diverse needs of the industry while promoting sustainable practices.

Deliverables

The project will deliver a fully functional AI-powered training program tailored for the automotive aftermarket service industry. Key deliverables include a curriculum outline covering essential topics related to ZEV repair and service, interactive learning modules utilizing AI technology, and a set of assessment tools to evaluate learner progress. Additionally, the project will produce a user guide for instructors and learners, ensuring seamless implementation and utilization of the training program. The final deliverable will be a report summarizing the development process and providing recommendations for future enhancements.

Established in 1951, the Automotive Retailers Association (ARA) represents eight different automotive services industry sub-sectors.
The ARA core competencies include:
Industry advocacy and leadership;
Industry knowledge and research; and,
Business development and training.
Throughout its 70-year history, the ARA has actively championed industry through many business development projects including labour attraction and retention programs, industry standards and certification programs, health and safety, and training programs including partners such as WorkSafeBC, RoadSafetyBC, ICBC, and many other government and non-government organizations.
In 1996, the ARA developed North Americaโ€™s first environmental certification program for automotive recyclers. Its most recent program is EVfreindly, a program designed to help grow the electric vehicle market in Canada.
