Details

The Ubuntu Neighbourhood Organization (UNO) seeks to enhance its digital presence and community engagement through a comprehensive social media strategy. Currently, UNO's social media engagement is below desired levels, limiting its ability to connect with the community effectively. Students will analyze UNO's existing social media performance, identify areas for improvement, and research industry best practices. The goal is to develop a strategic plan that will increase UNO's online visibility and engagement over a three-month period. This project provides an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge of digital marketing, content creation, and strategic planning to a real-world scenario, ultimately benefiting a community-focused organization.

Deliverables

Students will deliver a detailed Social Media Growth & Engagement Strategy document, including a 3-month content plan tailored to UNO's objectives. Additionally, students will create a suite of social media content, such as posters, videos, and images, designed to enhance UNO's digital presence and support the proposed strategy. These deliverables will provide UNO with actionable insights and creative assets to boost their online engagement.

Minority-Owned Youth-Owned Community-Focused

UNO is a Youth-Led Non-Profit Organization that was created to provide a safe space for youth to feel welcome and wanted in a city where such spaces are hard to find. This was needed more than ever in our community as we are currently facing rapid gentrification and no place that served as a hub for the long standing members of lower income families in the community. We offer a variety of programs, workshops, and projects within our space dedicated to youth development.

We serve as a focal point for the community as a place to be and a town square of sorts where people of all backgrounds can feel at home without the feeling of being unwelcome, unwanted or neglected. The feeling of ostracization was becoming all too common and the disconnect between different generations of youth with shared experiences was felt. So the youth that lead UNO took a stand and created this safe space so that mentorship and togetherness that was once ever-present could be brought back in our community.
