Details

Seeking a digital marketing intern who can develop a consumer product launch into the grocery store market in the Chicagoland area. Specific grocers are selected. This effort is to drive consumer traffic to those grocers to purchase our product.


This will involve leveraging our existing digital assets to execute and to establish new digital assets/channels we have not yet utilized (i.e. You Tube, TikTok). Effort will include researching/learning the current grocery store market in the Chicagoland area and the differences with our grocer partners. Developing a marketing plan for the launch of our product on the shelves of these grocers that educates and motivates target personas to purchase our product, will rapidly lead to executing that plan and tracking the success of the launch. Conducting a simple and manageable plan that is achievable with existing resources will require a "lean" and creative approach.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, the intern should demonstrate:


- Understanding of the current grocery store market in the Chicagoland area.


- Ability to develop a marketing plan for a consumer product launch that emphasizes the company's brand goals, values and differentiation.


- Creation and execution of a digital marketing strategy to support product launch.


- Ability to track the success of the launch and make adjustments as necessary.



Final deliverables should include:


  • A brief marketing plan and digital marketing strategy built off research and discussions with company executives.
  • Presentation and approval/edit of plan with company executives.
  • Manage and coordinate resources to establish new digital channels.
  • Manage and coordinate resources to establish content for digital channels that support brand goals and image.
  • Post content and establish roadmap for content creation over a designated consumer campaign (time bound).
  • Method to track/report the success of the launch that includes specific KPIs.
Mentorship

A dedicated mentor/advisor would work with and be available to the intern throughout the life of the project. The mentor will educate the individual on the industry, company and product. The mentor will help guide and fast-track plan and strategy development, resource allocation and execution. The individual will be placed in a roll to lead, however, they will be closely supported all along the way. We want to provide this individual with the autonomy and span of control to confidently make decisions and expose them to leadership in a fast moving start up organization.

Four Star Mushrooms (established 2019), is a controlled environment agriculture (CEA) company growing seven types of gourmet mushrooms in a high tech facility in the heart of Chicago. Primary customers are restaurants/chefs, catering, corporate food service and secondarily are grocers and specialty retail. Consumers will be an added focus this year. The brand is highly recognized in Chicago, which should be expanded and to serve as a foundation for an eventual consumer strategy.
