Details

The main objective of this project is to create a professional, user-friendly, and impactful website for the Green Career Centre that enhances accessibility, showcases organizational achievements, and effectively engages its audience. Tasks and activities include updating visuals to align with organizational values, improving navigation and functionality (e.g., linking resources and newsletters), and integrating testimonials, stats, and new media content. Deliverables will include a fully optimized and visually cohesive website that meets funder expectations, reflects current initiatives, and strengthens connections with stakeholders and partners​.


This will involve several different steps for the students:

  • Update the homepage by fixing logo functionality, improving contrast, and replacing outdated photos.
  • Redesign navigation with clearer headings, better filters for resources, and mobile-friendly UX/UI.
  • Replace outdated content, including impact reports and old testimonials, with updated and relevant information.
  • Add high-resolution visuals, consistent iconography, and updated funder and partner logos with proper linking.
  • Optimize technical aspects such as SEO, page speed, and Google Analytics integration.


A comprehensive breakdown of what will be required for the website will be provided.


We hope that by the end of the project the website with have:

  • A visually cohesive and user-friendly website with a polished homepage and optimized resource and event pages.
  • Improved navigation and functionality, ensuring seamless user experience across devices.
  • Comprehensive and updated content, including new testimonials, impact stats, and current funder and partner details.
  • Enhanced engagement tools, such as a functional newsletter system and event links or recaps.
  • Fully optimized technical performance, including faster loading times and integrated analytics for tracking.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in implementing search engine optimization (SEO), optimizing page speed, and ensuring cross-device compatibility.
  • Skills in updating visuals, improving navigation, and maintaining a cohesive and professional website design.
  • Expertise in content management, including replacing outdated materials with relevant testimonials, funder logos, and updated graphics.
  • Ability to enhance user experience through improved functionality, interactive forms, and seamless resource integration.
  • Strategic problem-solving capabilities to address design, content, and technical challenges aligned with project goals

Bonus steps would include:

  • Setting up Google Analytics to measure impact
  • Launching Google Ad campaign for new web design

Final deliverables should include one or more of the following:

  • 15-30 screenshots showing progress made on website design
  • 5-10 Loom videos showcasing how to update website
