Details

The main goal of the project is to update and improve an existing on-demand course. The course is largely screencast-based and provides learners with a practical application of a data visualization software. As the software has evolved over the years, the UI has been updated and the old screencasts are no longer relevant to new audiences.

By the end of the project, the student(s) should:

  • Provide a short summary of all the changes/updates that have been done.
  • Upload the final videos of the course to an LMS provided by SkildLabs.

The project would be challenging, as it touches on multiple production components such as video editing, scripting and creative direction. However, this will be a chance for the student to see how course production works from beginning to end, and lead the entire process.

Deliverables

The students would need to complete the following tasks:

  • Watch the entire course and provide an assessment of the existing content and issues.
  • Share a summary of the approach they will take to re-vamp the course.
  • Re-record the existing screencasts to reflect the latest version of the software being taught with tools like Bandicam, OBS, etc.
  • Add visual aids and creative elements to enhance the exiting production level.
  • Use Descript to transcribe the existing videos, make adjustments to the script and apply the instructor's updated voice overdub.

There will be support and guidance provided from the instructor.

Mentorship

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and supervision throughout the project. There will be session that explain the use of certain tools and the overall eLearning production process.
