Details

Our website is not currently optimized for mobile viewing.

We would like to work with students to develop a more mobile friendly website for us.

Students should be prepared to:

  • Create a design proposal including wireframes or low-fidelity mockups for our company's review.
  • Build a fully-functioning mobile website, with our assistance in providing content and copy.
  • Provide training on updating and maintaining the site.

Create a blood sugar log using Appsheet using provided mock ups.

Deliverables

A fully-functioning mobile website.

Create a working version of a blood sugar log in Appsheet with login features and email possibility.

Mentorship

Supervision and Mentoring Plan

The student will receive training and ongoing support by Operations Manager and Project Manager. They will be guided through the organization's strategic plan and how it aligns with the project strategies. They will be part of a collaborative, innovative and team-oriented environment. They will have the opportunity to attend weekly meetings with the larger team at ICD in addition to smaller meetings with those involved in the web development project.

They will be gaining hands on experience creating relevant content, implementing and executing objectives. Students will always be provided with an opportunity to ask questions and have them addressed along with weekly check-ins with the ICD Team. This is an excellent opportunity for students to assimilate a multitude of skills and develop professionally. Students gain applicable knowledge and experience in real life context.

ICD is the charity that focuses on delivering the most engaging, inspiring, and empowering opportunities to the type 1 community.

We do not shy away from the tough questions. Together amongst peers, we build the skills and courage to face whatever obstacles come our way. We practice them together, leveraging our combined strengths.

Each individual may have a different starting point and we meet there to create and celebrate goals together. Life with diabetes demands a lot of us, but the resulting strength gained can expand our horizons.
