Details

I am looking for a student who can help me edit the third volume of my book series The Creator's Almanac.

The book is a fantasy novel set in a distant future where demons roam the Earth. The story tackles issues of discrimination, corrupt governments, and revolution. It also follows characters through personal journeys of understanding identity, mortality, and absurdism.

I want your help in refining the project, making book three in this series the best that it can be!

You will be working directly alongside me, the author, in cutting down and reworking scenes, implementing detailed character arcs, and building an expansive fantasy world!

Deliverables

Here is a look at how this project will be broken down:

10 hours - Read books 1, 2, and 3 in the series.

5 hours - Write a report with your thoughts on Volume Three. You will fill out a questionnaire that asks for an evaluation of general plot threads and story elements. Base your thoughts on the overall impression of the story. Events, actions, emotions, etc.

55 hours - This is the biggest part of the project, we will be intensively editing scenes. Chapter by chapter, we will look at what parts of a scene work and what doesn't. This portion of the internship will be balanced between scenes we edit together on call through an application like Zoom or Discord. You will also be working on scenes independently through Google Docs.

10 hours - For the last ten hours of the project, we will be focused on creating the perfect summary for the back of the book. This will include developing a summary for volume three, as well as new summaries for Volumes One and Two.

Mentorship

-I will provide access to E-Book copies of the three books in the Creator's Almanac series

-We will be on call together for a minimum of fifteen hours during your editing process to bounce ideas off of one another and refine the story as much as possible.

-I will be able to answer plot-related questions about the story, including a showcase of an outline of where the next books in the series are heading.

-I will help you expand your portfolio. You will be able to include the fact that you worked on editing a published book on your resume. Your name will be listed in the credits at the end of the book.
