The main goal for the project is to develop a multi-part documentary series titled "Collaborative Movements" which explores the intersections of non-profits, social enterprises, third spaces and local communities in Ottawa in regards to topics and initiatives concerning public well-being, art, sustainability, food and housing security, and culture. The project also involves seeking assistance in grant writing and creating a filming project plan.

Deliverables

Tasks for learners to complete include (but can be reworked with learners and program coordinator based on logistics and scope):


- Researching and identifying potential grant opportunities for the documentary series.


- Developing grant proposals and applications for funding.


- Creating a detailed filming budgeting plan.


- Creating a research report of local non-profits, social enterprises, and community members to gather information and stories for the documentary series.

Mentorship

Grassroots is committed to empowering students by offering comprehensive support for our project. We will provide creative guidance, strategic direction, and hands-on assistance across various facets including grant writing, proposal development, research, and report writing. Moreover, we'll offer expertise in budgeting and financial planning to ensure efficient resource allocation and help hone students' skills in storytelling to effectively engage the community.
