marketing go-to-market strategy business development salesIdentify the characteristics of the Contaminated Land (CL) market in specified territories (UK, Ireland or other key relevant country within the EU).
For each CL market describe:
- The availability & sources of data for the study (coverage, quality, accessibility).
- Build up a visualisation of the overall market in terms of its overall scale and distribution within each country (i.e. number of sites, subdivisions by type, distribution by scale/type etc).
- Develop criteria by which to prioritise amongst the sites as to which would be relevant to our solution.
- Describe how the market operates, what is influencing its growth/development and any relevant controlling factors (i.e. regulatory restrictions, legal requirements on site owners etc.).
- Describe how services are provided to the owners or controllers of the sites and the current competitive environment (i.e. who controls sites, who provides services to them, how that market operates, what determines competitiveness etc.).
- Develop criteria by which to prioritise potential markets based on overall scale of opportunity along with its accessibility/conducive commercial environment vis a vis our solution offer.
- Based on all the above, make recommendations as to which countries/markets our project should focus on looking at least 10 years forwards.
All the above will determine where business development activities should be focused, the potential commercial attractiveness of specific markets, development of pricing, revenue assumptions and for the creation/targeting of go-to market, sales and marketing activity.
Students will connect directly with the employer on a regular basis for mentorship and supervision throughout the project. Check ins will be at a time agreed by both sides at the beginning of the project.
About the company
Our conceptual idea aims to develop a new service for the consultancy and brownfield redevelopment construction sector active in the remediation of contaminated land. Particularly, this service will be available for use within the preliminary stages of the site selection and risk assessment process allowing decision makers to identify sites where land contamination and soil waste related liabilities could be a significant barrier to sustainable re-use of that site. By developing a desk-based assessment solution, it is envisaged that it would allow practitioners to rapidly assess numerous sites remotely, negating the time- and cost-consuming site visits usually required by practitioners.
