Details

The Stone Arch Bridge Initiative for Education Resource aims to create a marketing plan to promote a new service that assists teachers in translating children's books into students' first languages. This service is designed to make learning more inclusive, engaging, and culturally relevant for students whose first language is not English. The project will involve researching effective marketing strategies, identifying target audiences, and developing a comprehensive plan to reach and engage teachers. The goal is to ensure that teachers are aware of and utilize this service to enhance their classroom inclusivity and support multilingual students.

Key tasks include market research, audience segmentation, strategy development, and creating promotional materials. The project will provide learners with an opportunity to apply their knowledge of marketing principles, research methods, and communication strategies in a real-world context.

Deliverables

The project deliverables will include:

1. A detailed marketing plan document outlining strategies for promoting the translation service.

2. A market research report identifying target audiences and key insights.

3. Promotional materials such as brochures, social media posts, and email templates.

4. A presentation summarizing the marketing plan and key findings.

These deliverables will collectively support the goal of increasing awareness and adoption of the translation service among teachers.

This project will bring what we've learned working with African schools to North American schools.
Open Educational Resource (OER) Curation, Creation, and Professional Development. The current focus is leading teams in African countries (Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya) that promote literacy in elementary schools by:
1. Creating, curating, and sourcing OER content that meets the needs of elementary students aligned to standards. A special emphasis is on incorporating materials edited and adapted for and translated into the local languages in addition to the use of English language materials.
2. Implementing the OER content on open-source MoodleBox software on a portable server that does not require internet access.
3. Creating professional development courses for teachers to support their implementation of the OER curriculum. These Professional Development courses are conducted on an open-source Moodle system; the courses are openly licensed and will be shared via Moodle.Net.
