Details

Our flagship microgrid-in-a-box product performs a variety of advanced energy management functions in order to maximize the energy savings and resilience benefits for the user.

As a company rooted in the values of environmental sustainability it is important to truly understand the origins of each part of our system, along with analyzing the risks that come along with electronics obsolescence while meeting competitive pricing for our market.

We are seeking a team of students to support us in executing Supplier Research & Evaluation.

Deliverables

Learners will be asked to:

  • Read and understand product specifications sheets.
  • Research and identify multiple suppliers with equivalent or similar products for comparison purposes.
  • Highlight high-risk components within our system in terms of obsolescence/lack of substitutes.
  • Develop a purchasing schedule according to highest lead-time components.
  • Where possible, research and report on the social corporate responsibility practices for each supplier.
  • Complete a Supplier Evaluation for key components within our product.

Stretch Goals:

  • Provide suggestions for managing suppliers.
  • Propose a supplier growth plan for an increasing 5 year sales trajectory.
Mentorship

Students will benefit from our team’s industry expertise and will be equipped with a broader knowledge of the energy industry, assisting them in navigating related roles upon graduation. Each student will be assigned with 1 Technical Mentor and 1 Project Management Mentor from within Sponge to assist them through to project completion. A recurring meeting with both mentors will be scheduled in alignment with the student’s schedule and availability. Students will also be invited to join our company Slack platform to support continuous communication with their assigned mentors.
