What we are up to:

Web42 is building KYN (Know Your Neighbors), a fully decentralized network of decentralized neighborhood networks plus dApps (decentralized applications), to do two big things:

• bring back the neighborhood
• ○ more engaging, resilient and inclusive than ever
• ○ enterprise powers for neighbors and communities, made accessible for all
• ○ support people sharing their IRL (off-screen as much as possible) lives and resources smoothly
• ○ strong identity and verification (no device, card or biometrics needed for many uses), community safe anonymity, community fintech, mutual aid, and more

• ○ starts with monetization fixes - monetization drives design drives group dynamics, etc.
• ○ put people in control of their digital selves - can't be evil, by design
• ○ decentralize controls
• ○ flexible, positive social theory driven (rather than ad, etc. driven) governance, grouping, etc.
• ○ best balance between privacy (anon & pseudo by default - pairwise pseudonyms for most interactions) and community safety
• ○ Internet, itself, is optional.

Where we are with that:

Right now we have the first set of core technologies built and are about to head into alpha with our first dApp, a dApp which is designed to help build those local webs of trust that drive everyday happiness and resilience - to help people make 3 close friends within a 5 minute walk

Why we would love to partner with you:

We are not Silicon Valley standard. Our tech, underserved markets, go-to-market, monetization and more are not standard. We are what comes next.

We are not, however, awesome designers and could really use your help!

• Promotional community building app for project with some local community orgs
• App is geared to helping people smoothly do neighborhood street size block parties
• Tech stack includes Blazor WebAssembly (C# for websites), HTML/CSS/JS (Typescript), Aries (self-sovereign identity wallet)
• Most interested in front-end ui/ux help with this, but open to ideas

Joelio app

• Neighborly app "Make 3 close friends within a 5 minute walk"
• App is geared to helping people smoothly meet and simply hangout, in real life, with neighbors and start building those real world webs of trust that build resilience, reduce cost of living, increase happiness and more.
• Tech stack includes Blazor WebAssembly (C# for websites), HTML/CSS/JS (Typescript), Aries (self-sovereign identity wallet), KYN network/framework (our thing)
• Most interested in front-end ui/ux help with this, but open to ideas
• In-work now, beta in Q3/Q4

Our web presence.

• Prefer not PHP. Can work with most tech stacks. What makes this a great project for your development?
• Must be designed with privacy and security in mind. No google analytics (using Plausible.io, a privacy respecting alt) or open door plug ins.
• Informational - no store, etc.
• Sign ups for news and beta for now.
• Joelio: 1st app, KYN: tech, Web42: company/social purpose/mission
• Audiences: General neighbor customers - possibly great nexus subsets that we think really need this most and also will approach other neighbors, Grantors and community organizations, Philanthropists, Land developers and Apt/Mall/etc. managers - Even addressing just the neighbors better will be awesome.
• We have some designs we've kicked around and you can build on those or trash them. Open to whatever works best for you.
• Shortish term project, flexible timeline
