KYN: The challenges
Project scope

planning communication revenue sharing resilience researchWith KYN (Know Your Neighbors) and the dApps (decentralized apps) we are creating on it, we have some fairly unique challenges:
- translating benefits usually targeted at enterprises to people for everyday uses
- translating bleeding edge tech geek-speak benefits to same
- working to grow audiences in hyperlocal areas (150 person groups, located within 5 minutes or less walks) - Internet is optional
- well-trod monetization models in novel tech environments - importantly, with zero exploitation (exploitation is not even possible, by design)
- We also want to proceed in all things with social enterprise purposes in mind (digital inclusion, strong and independent identities, save the Internet, bring back the neighborhood, etc.)
__________
Goals
- We would particularly like robust evaluation of our potential novel monetization options. What should we pursue now and in the 1-3 year time-frame? What options provide the best revenue sharing potential for our communities?
- Due to the nature of the networks and broad spectrum utility, we are mainly targeting geographically. However, we would be interested in some analysis of the best neighborhood makeups to target for rapid adoption, easier communication, greater needs (which neighborhoods are loneliest, least resilient, etc.) and similar.
- Our planning might include consideration and even research of potential partnerships with community organizations, developers, schools and similar. We will be pursuing some after proof of concept is achieved. We have several ideas in mind, and are wide open to suggestions. Identifying the best to pursue will help us a lot.
Off the top of our heads, we can do:
- milestone meetings
- scrum style check-ins (every few days, 5-10)
Open to other options.
