Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

By offering assistance and advocacy to individuals in need, our charity helps people overcome anxiety, despair, and addictions without the need of pharmaceutical drugs.

This project will, in our opinion, involve:

  • leading a support group virtually for people with addiction or mental health problems
  • being a "kind visitor" to those who are socially isolated, such as those who are dealing with mental health concerns
  • promotion of community mental health
  • Community development, involvement, and/or outreach
  • Work involving social justice and/or advocacy, such as social policy advocacy or research
  • Improving Healthy Living In our community

What tasks will students need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  • The following should be the final deliverables:
  • a summary report
  • An hour-long presentation
  • Serious Research as it tends to deal with health
How will you support students in completing the project?
  • Students will speak with the employer directly to receive guidance and oversight throughout the project.
  • we will make all asset available for the students
  • thereafter a $100 incentive was given to a diligent student who completed the project well.
About the company

We are situated in Cape Town, South Africa - one of the most beautiful cities in the world - the city where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Our laboratories span two campuses of the University of Cape Town (UCT). Our synthetic chemistry laboratories are located within the Department of Chemistry on UCT’s Upper Campus, while our biochemical laboratories are located within the Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine on UCT’s Medical School Campus. Our research is at the interface of biology, chemistry and medicine. Research topics in our laboratories are geared towards providing students and postdoctoral fellows with choices that expose them to the widest possible frontiers of science, with hopes that their education and training encompasses modern approaches to research in the chemical and biological sciences.
