With KYN (Know Your Neighbors) and the dApps (decentralized apps) we are creating on it, we have some fairly unique challenges:

  • translating benefits usually targeted at enterprises to people for everyday uses
  • translating bleeding edge tech geek-speak benefits to same
  • interfaces designed around real world engagement - if people have to stay on a dApp to make use of its features, we have failed

  • We also want to proceed in all things with social enterprise purposes in mind (digital inclusion, strong and independent identities, save the Internet, bring back the neighborhood, etc.)

Goals

  • We would like to port our first dApp, designed around connecting people (whether they have homes or not) to three close friends within a five minute walk, to iPhone. We have a Droid version and are working on a desktop version.

Mentorship

Off the top of our heads, we can do:

  • milestone meetings
  • scrum style check-ins (every other day, 5-10)
  • weekly check-ins (30 mins - more if explicitly needed)
