Our organization is passionate about decreasing health inequities in the racialized populations we serve. We want to tell the story of our typical client to increase awareness about our community's needs and attract funders, volunteers, and new clients to our organization.

We would like to collaborate with students to create an awareness video.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our mission, vision and the community we serve.
  • Knowledge of impact storytelling and journey mapping is an asset.
  • Creation of a video using B roll provided by us and other mediums as appropriate.
  • Editing video which includes adding text, transitions, and overlays to the video.
  • Using Adobe Premier Pro Video Editing software and Canva would be preferential.
  • Presenting the video and making edits based on feedback.

Bonus Steps.

  • Recommendations on the promotion of the video created.

Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities is an accredited comprehensive community health organization delivering a range of holistic health and wellness services from early years to end of life. We have been serving vulnerable residents (newcomers, visible minorities, families living with poverty, homelessness and unemployment) across Scarborough, who experience many barriers to access, for 47 years.
We are dedicated to meeting these health needs by addressing the physical, mental, social, financial and environmental aspects of our population through our community health, engagement and support services teams.
Our integrated and accessible programming focuses on primary health and disease prevention services, community engagement and wellness support, assisted living and home support services, a food bank, senior wellness and youth leadership activities, and mental health counseling and support. Our organization offers culturally competent programs in a variety of languages that reflect the populations we serve. Our work is driven by standards of excellence in the field and proven practices in our local landscape. SCHC employs approximately 250 staff, engages over 250 core volunteers and operates 42 distinct, integrated programs and services across 10 sites.
