PROJECT DESCRIPTION: As a young start-up we are looking for assistance from intrapreneurs to validate our business assumptions around value proposition, target customer, and impacts through secondary research and customer interviews. This will help us to achieve important business milestones and to refine our business model. The intrapreneurs will search online from relevant sources (literature, industry associations, company websites, annual reports,...) for answers to specific questions, collect, and analyze their findings. Relevant information can be extracted and used for social media posts and newsletter content. They will also communicate with candidates for customer discovery interviews and assist in the execution of these interviews by minute taking. Fibrilex is envisioning a world where we source our raw materials more sustainably and with the least impact to the environment and future generations. We are working towards providing alternative sand sources to the construction industry to mitigate global sand shortages brought about by overexploitation. We care about sustainability, circular economy and gender equality. As a female-founded and led B2B company, we know firsthand what it means to be an underrepresented group in almost every meeting. Web Developer
We are seeking a Website Developer for the ImmiCan project, with a focus on creating a user-friendly and informative online platform that effectively communicates ImmiCan's mission and products. This project offers students a real-world opportunity to gain valuable experience in software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum, and develop skills that are highly relevant to future careers in the industry. Project Description: In this project, students will have the opportunity to: 1. Understand Agile and Scrum: Students will research and understand Agile and Scrum methodologies, which are widely used in the software development industry. They will apply these methodologies to the development process, gaining practical experience in agile project management. 2. Develop Workflows: Students will create development workflows that ensure a systematic and organized approach to website development. This includes planning, design, implementation, testing, and deployment phases. 3. Comprehensive Documentation: Students will be responsible for creating comprehensive documentation that outlines the project's goals, scope, requirements, and development process. Market survey
We are looking for an intern to help us gather and organize specific market information related to a Canadian exports. Specifically, the intern will: Identify enterprises residing in Canada who currently produce a selected list of commodities (names of the enterprises, location, address, contact person, export status, etc.). Collect information on the prices, quantities exported, and the main export markets of a selected list of commodities (period covered is the past five years).
Design UI/UX and front-end development
We are looking for a student to help us refine a new solution our company has developed and which is currently being tested. Key responsibilities of the intern will include: Communicate with project manager to understand the business objectives and the user requirements. Identify design and UX problems and suggest elegant solutions. Design new screens for both mobile and desktop devices and develop code for front end implementation. Test the application and suggest solutions to optimize speed and performance.
Dating App
There were a lot of dating apps coming out but it seems like there is nothing new but yet more people complaining. Bumble came out with a new feature called Bantr - it only happens at 7 pm local time on Thursdays (you can check it out) and its for an hour. I find that both parties who participate in this have a desire to actually speak rather than take forever to reply. This new app would be speed dating anytime you log in. You will have criteria you can check off and it will match if someone within these criteria is online. It would be a 5 min discussion. This app will also provide a feature around me, which will show people around you who are on this app. Maybe you passed by someone you like and you can message them. (name pending)

There are so many recipes on the internet but each recipe you choose you might not have the right ingredients. This app/ website allows you to enter the ingredients you have and will show you can you do for your meal.
Data Analysis and Visualization
We're a Canada-based start-up, but we have a global vision and mission: To create the world's most comprehensive and valid dataset on employee motivators. To empower workers and companies to identify and fulfill their top motivators. At Motivators.io, we provide HR Consulting, Talent Assessments, and Career Coaching Services. On the assessment side, we collect insights on the top reasons why employees choose to join, stay with, or leave a job or company. These insights enable companies to make smarter investments in the programs and services that truly matter to their employees. Our dataset also provides real-time insights into workplace motivator trends by region, job function, seniority, etc. We would like to collaborate with students to analyze and visualize our raw datasets. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our dataset objectives and analysis procedures. Checking for and correcting inconsistencies in the dataset. Calculating important results and plotting data in graphs and charts using Looker Studio and other visual data tools. Creating a repository of aggregate data with filterable fields. Identifying interesting trends and recommendations of market opportunities based on the data insights. Conducting a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable. Building a website, with our assistance in providing the content. Providing training on updating and maintaining the website. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Testing prototypes with customers and refining ideas with feedback.
Redesign Emails for Haletale Inc.
The goal of this project is to redesign the emails going out of Haletale platform. These are mostly notifications. The backend technology is Ruby on Rails. Team will support in walking thought this the code base. Expertise in HTML and CSS is needed in order to make changes to the emails.
Website Development : Image selection and manipulation
The goal of DesignBot is to provide industrial designers with variations of their product design ideas. In such, we want to use the SVG image format since this format is already standardized and widely used by designers. We would like to collaborate with students to improve the UI of our website by improving the current functionalities as well as including functionalities that will allow the user to select and manipulate parts of images. Mobile App UI / UX Design & Prototype
Our company would like to explore designing a prototype for a native mobile application version of our current web based product. We currently have a lot of traffic to our product via the web and we would like to start to attempt to capture some of that user activity via a mobile application. Tasks may include: Conducting background research on our existing web application for the product. Identifying key areas of our current product and how they might translate to a mobile application. Learning and using various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as this is the latest and greatest tool currently available.
