The region faces increasing water scarcity issues, and it is crucial to educate the community on sustainable water usage practices and tools. The goal of this project is to create an engaging and informative awareness campaign that highlights the importance of water conservation and provides practical tips for reducing water consumption. The campaign should leverage best practices from other water conservation programs in island communities. The outreach plan should target various media channels, including social media, local newspapers, and community events, to reach a broad audience. By the end of the project, the team should have a comprehensive strategy and a set of materials ready for implementation.
Researching and Developing a Business Case for Wood Chipping Incentives
The goal of this project is to research best practices in new program development for a new climate action program that would focus on community-based wood-chipping incentives, and translate that research into a compelling business case, outlining the benefits, costs, and potential returns on investment for implementing chipping incentives. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Researching current wood chipping incentive programs and best practices in new program development. - Developing a business case for implementing a wood chipping incentive program for Transition Salt Spring. - Outlining the benefits, costs, and potential returns on investment for implementing chipping incentives. - Exploring potential sources of funding and other resources for the program.

The main goal of this project is to assess the current content for Transition Salt Spring's WordPress website, review strategic goals, and support the team in writing content that aligns with the organization's overall business strategy and communicates effectively with our target audiences. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Review web strategy doc, mapping user journeys, and creating content that aligns with business objectives and brand standards. Analyze the current website content and site architecture and with the web team help support writing goals Ensure and suggest more useful and usable content directed to target audiences. Make suggestions for content enrichment (integration of content from our YouTube channel, testimonials etc) Provide recommendations on home page layout and landing page/section page layout for SEO and best practices.
