I am a communications student at MacEwan University in Edmonton. While I am not pursuing my studies, I am a part-time worker and a fervent volunteer in Edmonton's Art and Culture sector ( i.e. Metro Theatre, the Fringe festival ). Writing is my life's passion whether it be working on research papers or writing short stories in my free time.

Edmonton Short Film Festival Communications Support

The Edmonton Short Film Festival is seeking a student/s to provide specialized communications support for writing blog articles on our local filmmaking sector. Our videographer will be working on producing videos on the people in the filmmaking sector in Edmonton and these articles will be used in conjunction with these videos. The articles will focus on the many different aspects of what it takes to create a film including: Script Writer, Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Set Design, Actors, Costume Designer, Hair & Make-up, Lighting, Special Effects, Sound, and Editing, This position will require the following skills: Research skills Strong writing and editing skills On-line communication skills Creating visual assets that will be used on our web site and social media platforms. This division allowed me to work on social media monitoring, copy writing, and social media auditing. The other half of my practicum was with Insights. Responsibilities in the Insights division involved writing key messages, and a heavy focus on public-facing correspondence.
