IIBD Inclusive Language Toolkit for Canada
The main objective of the IIBD Inclusive Language Toolkit for Canada is to catalyze transformative change by promoting language practices that are deeply rooted in the principles of equity, inclusivity, and social justice. It aims to serve as a comprehensive resource that equips individuals, organizations, and institutions with empirically-based guidelines for using language in a manner that respects and honors the diverse identities and experiences of people in Canada and beyond. This project will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching existing language guidelines and best practices. Developing a comprehensive resource that includes language guidelines and best practices. Developing a set of tools and resources to help individuals, organizations, and institutions use language in an inclusive manner. Developing a plan for disseminating the resource and tools to target audiences. Developing a plan for monitoring and evaluating the impact of the resource and tools.
