With hands-on experience in game programming, they are eager to apply their skills to create fully functional game or simulation apps. Collaborate on Software Development Solutions
COMP 313
Centennial College invites employers to partner with final-year Software Engineering Technology students through the Software Development Project 2 capstone course. Students will work in teams to design and implement a complete application or game and the project must make use of enterprise tools to build enterprise-level data integration. Interactive Gaming students will develop a game, and Health Informatics students will select a project that focuses on healthcare information systems. This course emphasizes skills in communication, problem-solving, project documentation, and user-focused solutions, ensuring students are well-prepared for industry challenges. Employers are expected to maintain regular communication, offer project guidance, provide relevant information, attend the final presentation virtually, and deliver constructive feedback through the Riipen platform.
Collaborate with Future Mobile App Developers

Learners in Centennial College's Mobile Application Development Project course focus on developing their skills in mobile app design, agile methodologies, and project management while addressing real-world challenges. They seek to enhance their abilities in teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication throughout the project. Students are required to work in teams of 4-5 to design and implement a complete mobile app (native app, hybrid app, React Native, or mobile web app) and create the artifact design by applying agile software development methodologies and project management principles. Employers are expected to provide regular communication, guidance, and essential information related to the project. They will also be invited to attend the final presentation and provide constructive feedback on the students' work via the Riipen platform.
Software and Systems Development Programs
Learners in this experience are enrolled in various Software and Systems Development Programs. This experience aims to source appropriate projects for these students interested in securing experiential learning projects during their final year at Centennial College. Students are enrolled in: Software Engineering Technology Software Engineering Technician Artificial Intelligence - Software Engineering Technology Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer and Communication Networks) Computer Systems Technician - Networking Game – Programming Health Informatics Technology Students in these programs generally apply programming skills to create, maintain, test and edit website, applications, mobile apps, and databases. As students in their senior years, they have ‘full stack’ skills to support both frontend and backend development with a foundational understanding of cloud computing, APIs, and software security. Health Informatics Technology students may also have strengths in data privacy and best practices for working with sensitive data.
