THIS IS MY HAPPY PLACE WHERE I SHARE MY INSPIRATION, IMAGINATION & AFFECTION FOR VISUAL CREATION
My paintings are an extension of my passion for colour and my need to fully engage myself in the raw process of creating a unique and original invention. I know that the power of colour has an ability to generate it's own energy and effect on each one of us. Drawn to healing and holistic therapy, I believe colour promotes enlightenment, intuition and creates a balance in every aspect of our daily lives. Art is my spiritual and sacred place where happiness, balance and harmony ignite my very being.

I am currently employed full time for another 3 – 5 years and am looking to transition into my “passion” career full-time upon retirement. I want to start offering creative expressive art workshops beginning summer 2021 on a part-time basis. Once retired, I will have 3-5 years of experience and exposure from which I can effortlessly transition into my Therapeutic Arts business full-time immediately. Currently, my social media focuses solely on my art business. Please note that a Therapeutic Arts Practitioner is not an Art Therapist. The main difference is that an Art Therapist has a Master of Social Worker Degree and can assist clients with a clinical treatment plan of their mental health issues. A Therapeutic Arts Practitioner is not a Social Worker, however, both use art as a creative form of promoting mental health and supports clients through creative expression. Therefore, I cannot advertise myself as an Art Therapist. I can however advertise my services as Expressive Art Therapist or Therapeutic Arts Practitioner, etc. My ideal clients are: Working with people who have experienced grief Hospice, CAMH, Funeral homes Covid-19 Pandemic stress relief and acknowledging and mourning the loss of the “way it used to be” Divorce, death, loss of a close friend, relationship breakup, etc., life changes Indigenous Community Healing through creative expression, creative art Corporate Art Therapy & Mental Health in the Workplace Women’s Circles Develop a calm mind, compassionate heart and happy spirit My Qualifications: Therapeutic Arts Practitioner – Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy (April 2021) Certificate of Thanatology – Durham College – graduating (August 2022) (the study of death, dying, bereavement and grief) Business Goals: How and where to find customers Growth of my services in the community How to improve my social media advertisements Make this into a full-time career making at least $40,000/year. Marketing goals: How to get Organization and/or individual to find value in my service and book workshops? Advertising so that organizations and the general public know that my business exists and what services I offer? How to develop a clear message to my potential client about what service I provide and the value I can bring to the improvement of their mental health. In-person Workshops: Important – how to lower my cost of “renting” space. For example, if I pitch my service to a Funeral Home, how do I get them to absorb the cost of renting a room within their facility? Many funeral homes in Windsor have a reception area for families. How can I get them to let me use those rooms for my workshops? Is it a good idea to use a room within a Funeral Home or would it be emotionally triggering for a client to go back to the funeral home for grief workshops? If so, what type of facility would you recommend in my community? How can I get the Funeral Home to pay me directly for the Therapeutic Arts Workshop so that it’s a free service to the participant? How do I convince them to pay for the cost of workshop on behalf of the participants? Or how do I convince them to pay ½ of the cost of the workshop / person? How do I get their buy in to help advertise my service? How do I get organizations to advertise this service? In general, how can I get organizations (Hospice, CAMH, Funeral Homes) to absorb the cost for the participant and pay me directly for the service? What’s in it for the organization? I’d like to offer rolling workshops. Example, hold a Therapeutic Arts Workshop either 1 evening / week or 1 Saturday morning / week for a duration of 6 weeks. Virtual Workshops: All of the logistics involved in holding virtual workshops. I have an iphone, professional lighting, laptop, desktop, cell phone holder with extension arm) Do I get the clients to purchase their own supplies (using a list that I provide them with)? Do I incorporate the cost of supplies into my workshops and mail them the supplies?
