

LEVEL UP: Sexual Violence Response Research Project (Phase 2/2)
Project Details: Positions available: 1. The Office of Sexual Violence Prevention, Education and Response (OSVPER) is seeking one student to assist in the implementation of an evaluation framework for its sexual violence support and response programming. The student will work with the Sexual Violence Response Coordinator to develop various quantitative and qualitative assessment tools to ensure OSVPER is appropriately evaluating if those receiving the office’s services feel adequately and appropriately supported. Students applying for this opportunity must be familiar with quantitative and qualitative research methods and have access to a computer. Previous education or training relating to sexual violence is an asset. Students must also have applied for 'Phase 1' of the project. The project entails: Reviewing feedback provided by the Sexual Violence Response Coordinator regarding assessment tools created in Phase 1 of the project. Implementing feedback to create a final version of each assessment tool created in Phase 1. Assessment tools created in this project will be used in the 2021-22 academic year to evaluate OSVPER’s sexual violence support and response programming.

EDI Project coordinator
Support the engagement activities of the Office of Human Rights, Diversity, and Equity. This includes working on exciting projects related to: EDI Training - unconscious bias; anti-discrimination response; anti-oppressions; etc. Awareness days and initiatives - Black History Month; International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination; International Day for Person with Disabilities; Understanding Hate speaker series; etc. Community outreach - Champions of Diversity and Equity student training initiative Students applying for this opportunity must be familiar with Google suite and have access to a computer. Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram is required. Previous education or training relating to human rights, equity, and inclusion is an asset
Level UP - Resource Creation
Positions available: 1 The Office of Sexual Violence Prevention, Education and Response (OSVPER) is seeking 1 student to develop educational materials for key topics relating to sexual violence prevention and response. The project entails: Creating one-page resources on the following topics: Cyberviolence, Sexual Harassment, Stalking, Sex-Positivity, Options for Survivors of Sexual Violence, Relationship Violence, Self-Care Options Synthesizing key information from OSVPER education programming materials and relevant resources Supporting the integration of educational materials onto OSVPER’s online resource hub Researching and identifying best practices and additional opportunities for resource creation. Students applying for this opportunity must have previous education or training relating to sexual violence. Experience with resource development is required.
Level UP - Social Media Strategy & Content Creation
Positions available: 2 The Office of Sexual Violence Prevention, Education and Response (OSVPER) is seeking 1-2 student(s) to develop content and create a social media strategy for OSVPER’s social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter). We use social media to raise awareness and promote ongoing learning about sexual violence and related issues, promote our programs and services and to situate OSVPER as part of a local, provincial, and national community addressing sexual violence. The project entails: Creating engaging content for posts (including graphics and written content), Using Canva to create engaging and relevant posts Creating a content calendar Following OSVPER’s social media guidelines Researching relevant days/weeks/months and initiatives relating to sexual violence awareness and identifying opportunities for social media engagement Researching effective social media strategies for sexual violence awareness Creating a 1-2 page document with effective social media strategies, tips and tricks, and campaign/project ideas for future OSVPER student volunteers Social media posts created in this project will be used throughout the summer and into the 2021-22 academic year to promote a culture of consent at MacEwan University. Students applying for this opportunity must be familiar with Canva and have access to a computer. Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram is required. Previous education or training relating to sexual violence is an asset.
