Welcome to York University's Global Health and Humanitarianism course! We are thrilled to offer you the opportunity to collaborate with our students on real-world projects that explore the intricate nexus between global health and humanitarian action. Our program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to critically examine and address complex challenges in the realm of global health equity and humanitarian response.


The learners in our Global Health and Humanitarianism course are adept at tackling a wide array of projects that align with our learning objectives. They possess the capability to delve into the principles and actions of global humanitarianism, understanding its intricacies and applying them to real-world scenarios. Furthermore, they can describe the pivotal roles played by major global health actors in supporting humanitarian efforts, providing insightful analyses into their functions and impacts. With a keen eye for detail, our students can compare and contrast different paradigms of humanitarianism, shedding light on their nuances and implications.


Steps for Matching:

1. Match Request Submission: Submit your project idea, and we'll schedule a video call to discuss its suitability for our students.

   

2. Pre-Approval: If both parties agree, we'll confirm the match on the Riipen platform.

   

3. Students Choosing: Once pre-approved, your project will be available for students to select. They will choose whom they wish to collaborate with individually.

   

4. Collaboration Starts: All communication will take place on the Riipen platform, ensuring seamless interaction among educators, employers, and learners.

Upon completion of the project, students will deliver a final presentation to industry partners, showcasing their findings and outcomes. Other deliverable formats can be discussed with the professor to ensure alignment with project objectives and partner expectations.

Requirements

We seek partners who offer projects aligned with our course objectives, providing opportunities for students to:

- Examine the relationship between global health and humanitarian action.

- Explore changing trends in global health priorities and humanitarian response.

- Engage with topics such as development aid, armed conflict, migration, and climate change.

- Critically assess ethical dilemmas and challenges in humanitarian response.

- Contribute to decolonizing humanitarian action.
