Your organization has products or services requiring a marketing plan.


Up to eight student teams will spend 8 weeks conducting research and developing a Marketing Plan in the form of three deliverables:


  1. A situation analysis, researching your product/service and producing a report covering the external business environment you operate or plan to operate within.
  2. Segmenting, targeting, and positioning breaking down available customer groups, ones that may be attractive to target, and how potential customers perceive the marketplace.
  3. Marketing mix plan including aligning your product/service with customer needs, pricing analysis and recommendations, appropriate channels of communication, and promotional strategy.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Referencing available information from research, students will provide a Strategic Marketing Plan with implementation recommendations in the form of 3 deliverables over the 8 weeks.


Students work in groups of approximately 4-6. You will receive one set of research, analysis, and plans from each group.

Requirements

Projects the students are well-equipped to work on include (but are not limited to):

  • New or existing business, product, or service
  • Developing a new product launch plan
  • Rebranding or marketing of an existing product
  • Market research or competitive analysis
  • Expansion strategy

Note: finance or human resource related projects will not be a good match for this cohort.

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

  • question 1

    Plan to provide an information package for students with a survey and details about your company, products/services, and goals for this project.

  • question 2

    Be available for a quick phone call or Zoom meeting with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

  • question 3

    Depending on the scope of the project, you may need to provide internal information to the students. They are able to sign NDAs if required.
