Bio

New to Riipen and excited to be here!
Hi, my name is Tim and I am a full time undergrad student in my final year of studies at the University of Toronto. My goal in joining riipen is to find projects that can offer me work experience in the fields I'm passionate about such as social outreach work or anything directly related to community engagement. Overall, I would describe myself as being an advocate for environmental justice with a deep interest in horticulture. One particular academic accomplishment I'm proud of is my experience working with community based research projects such as the "Reconciliation and Decolonization at Canadian Community Organizations". For this project I helped collect and analyze data via interview transcripts from various community organizations operating in Canada which have all implemented initiatives aimed at reconciliation and/or decolonization. Once the interview data was collected I coded the transcripts to identify key themes. The data was utilized for said research project published by 'The Cultural Interface Institute' and presented to a non-profit organization 'The Council of Canadians' to help further their cause. Though I would prefer to be apart of projects similar in scope, I am open to all new opportunities and whatever challenges they may present!
