Competitor and Market Analysis
Details As a PaaS company, we are building an online platform for households. We aim to provide them with a robust residential digital home and life management platform that empowers parents and homeowners to manage all the details about their family and home. We've done preliminary market research, but we believe we should conduct more scalable and professional research before building it. We want to better understand our target market and audience as well as the overall market so we can uniquely position ourselves within the industry. It’s also important for us to have a better understanding of our competitors to develop clarity on our competitive advantages and optimize our marketing strategy. This analysis will provide a helpful direction on fine-tuning our product design in order to ensure that we adequately meet the market need. If identified, the analysis result should indicate that any features are demanded but missed by the current competitors. This information is an excellent input of our product design, and it will also be the key message we will utilize when promoting our product launch. This project should include: Target market research Industry size and market potential Target customer segment interviews and surveys Competitive landscape, including n identification of our current competitors An identification of potential future competitors (eg. a large company in a similar industry who may enter the space) The creation of a matrix identifying features shared across the companies and those that are different. A summary of 2-4 paragraphs describing our competitive advantages and disadvantages relative to the competition identified. This could be done in the form of a SWOT analysis. Proposed strategic positioning of our brand We will give you access to organizational assets to support this project. We can suggest names of competitors to research. Objective We hope to gain a comprehensive understanding of our target audience and the competitors in our space, and how we can differentiate ourselves through our product/service offering, and our messaging. We would like to understand our customer base through interviews and surveys with our primary customer segment to gather insights into buying willingness, expectations, and experiences with our competitors. Successful outcomes include a market research report with the above analysis and recommendations.
Digital Marketing Strategy
We want students to help us develop a digital marketing strategy to grow and engage our target market. We’d like to know how we can maximize different channels and what will work best for us, based on our goal to increase traction. The main questions we’d like students to help us answer are the following: How should we promote our company? What social media channels should we utilize? What budget is appropriate for advertising? What messaging should we use? What KPIs should we track to measure success?
New SaaS Launch
eeva is a B2C SaaS product that will be launching in 2022. It will be a first mover in the industry, and we would like to work with students to come up with recommendations for the development of the service. Students should be prepared to: Conduct a competitive analysis Market segmentation, targeting, and positioning. Provide recommended marketing strategies and budgets Present findings and final recommendations at the end of the project.
App Development - Discovery
We are going to be building and launching a new B2C app, and would like to work with students for the Discovery phase of the project. Students should be prepared to: Holding a discovery meeting to understand the needs. Interviewing users to gather applicable design specs. Conduct user testing to understand and optimize existing design challenges. Provide a feature list and technical architecture for the application. Present their findings and prototype at the end of the project.
