Volunteer Program Assessment for Ontario Hospices
The project aims to develop and analyze a comprehensive survey targeting hospices across Ontario to better understand the current status and effectiveness of their volunteer programs. Volunteer programs are crucial for the operation and support of hospice services, yet there is limited data on how these programs are structured, managed, and perceived by both volunteers and staff. By conducting this survey, Hospice Palliative Care Ontario seeks to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement in volunteer engagement and management. The project will involve designing a survey that captures key metrics and information such as number of volunteers, total number of volunteer hours, evolving role of volunteers and contributions to the health care system. The analysis will provide insights into common challenges faced by hospices and suggest best practices for enhancing volunteer contributions. This project will enable learners to apply their knowledge of survey design, data collection, and analysis, while contributing valuable insights to the hospice community.

Develop Marketing Plan (Health) - Virtual
Our organization has a virtual opportunity for 1 marketing student to support the development and execution of a marketing plan for our educational offerings. The potential market includes health care provider organizations and associations. All work will be completed virtually. One of the roles of HPCO is to promote education pertaining to hospice palliative care services for health professionals, volunteers and the general public. To this end, we have developed a new palliative care education program for personal support workers, called PACE for PSWs, to improve skills and caregiving abilities. Additionally, HPCO has developed a Volunteer Training Curriculum that can be used to train volunteers supporting palliative care patients. Both programs are available for use by external organizations for a fee.
