React Frontend Software Engineer

Purple Lotus is building mental health software to enable everyone to better support their own mental wellbeing through data driven means. We enable our customers to access their mental health data through interactive methods. We're looking for students to help us build data driven software for mental wellness. Our primary tech stack includes React, Next.js, and Supabase. Students will have the opportunity to work with a large full-stack application and a growing codebase. In this project, we're looking for students to assist us in developing React frontend pages and components. These components are dynamic and students must be familiar with concepts such as hooks, states and contexts. Students will be assisting in creation of specific portions of the Frontend and will deploy their changes onto our production builds. By the end of this project, students should have code live on our website and pushed into our private github repo. At the end of this short internship, you'll submit a very short report describing the frontend components you've created.

Digital Wellness Support Tools Design

The main goal for the project is to develop and design digital wellness support tools using Figma for Purple Lotus Technologies Ltd.'s holistic mental wellness app. The tools should be user-friendly, visually appealing, and effective in providing support for mental wellness. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Understanding the target audience and their mental wellness needs. - Researching and analyzing existing digital wellness support tools. - Collaborating with the Purple Lotus team to understand the app's overall design and functionality. - Creating wireframes and prototypes for the digital wellness support tools using Figma. - Incorporating feedback from the Purple Lotus team and making necessary revisions to the designs.

Mental Wellness Exercises Design and Prototyping

The main goal for the project is to design mental wellness exercises and create prototypes using Figma based on the specifications of the main designer and researcher for Purple Lotus Technologies Ltd. The exercises and prototypes should be aimed at making a meaningful impact on the well-being of our users. This will involve several different steps for the learners, including: - Collaborating with the main designer and researcher to understand the specifications and requirements for the mental wellness exercises. - Familiarizing with current design system and users of the app. - Researching and brainstorming different mental wellness exercises and competitor designs that can have a positive impact on the well-being of youth - Creating prototypes of the mental wellness exercises using Figma, ensuring that they are user-friendly and visually appealing. - Testing the prototypes with the target audience and gathering feedback for improvements.

Dynamic Frontend Software Engineer

In this project, we want students to assist us in developing frontend features for our main application. This application is currently in use by multiple people and is an excellent opportunity for students to get involved in feature creation. Students will be working alongside the team to help us create new special features for our app and will have the chance to engage with our large growing codebase. Students main responsibility will be in developing and pushing code into production. Students will be creating React and TypeScript code, pushing to our Github and working with our Cloud services to deploy and push their code. Students main outcome will be private code pushed and deployed into our codebase. Students will work on a series of Linear tickets and will work with our team to ensure the tasks are being completed.

Website Design for Mental Health Project (Phase 2)

In this project, students will assist with design and construction of our primary website. Students will be provided the opportunity to learn about web development and basics of CI/CD pipelines. In this project, the primary goals include development and feature creation for Purple Lotus's website. The student will have the chance to get involved in frontend development and assist in creating accessibility features for our primary web app. During this phase, the student will be involved in set up of databases for our website which will dynamically store variables for our team to change in order to quickly update the website, requiring us to make minimal code changes.

Front-end Design for Internal Software Product (Phase 2)

The main objective of this project is helping our team create internal visualizations using React and dynamic components to help us visualize all the data we're obtaining through our software applications. During Phase 2, we'll be more focused on development of dynamic dashboards and measurement metrics that will be incorporated into React front-end designs. This phase is more focused on creation of larger pages and goes beyond development of singular components. This project consists of taking UI/UX visualizations from the Figma wireframe and then creating that into dynamic, working React components using JavaScript and linking those React components to our NoSQL backend which contains a plethora of complex data we'd want to visualize for internal purposes. The students will be involved in the following: Meetings with the UI team to ensure the UI is clear and accessible Detailed discussions for the project managers to ensure the software requirements are met as closely as possible User interviews with the team to ensure all the data visualizations make sense Creation of dynamic React components with JavaScript Integration of React components into our Storybook database for us to continuously reuse the components we create during this project Integration of multiple components into dynamic React pages

This project is all about helping our team to design front-end Reach components for our flagship therapy software designed to make connecting with therapists easier. Phase 1 was set up where we completed initial core components and in phase 2, we'll be creating even more components and setting up even more dynamic pages to enable us to incorporate more dynamic data visualizations. This project has the primary goal of taking our backend data and establishing visualizations to make communication of data easier for our users. Database Development and Management System for Therapy App

The main objective for this project is to conduct research alongside the company and assist in development of a database system for managing our data. In this project, the student will create database designs and help the team compare and contrast between different database options. By the end of the project, the student's design should be part of our software product and they will have the ability to assist in deployment and set up of our database. The main objectives include: Research of databases and open source libraries that will work best for our purpose Design of databases and data visualizations of our data Integration pipelines from database to the rest of our analysis software

Software Architecture and Design for Backend

Our company would like to explore software architecture and support for the current backend of our product. In advance of any product build, our company spends a good amount of time researching potential technologies, architectures, and how they will fit together to fit our customer’s needs. We would like you to evaluate our current or new product’s needs and compare that against current open source technologies and architectural patterns to develop an overall software architecture we could use to implement in our product. This will involve: Conduct background research on our product. Identify what open source software is available and what software architecture patterns would be best suited towards this application. Creation of a detailed software architecture model, highlighting key components, software, patterns and anything else needed. Create architecture patterns based on prior literature and system design guides. Assist in writing technical documentation for the overall project.

Fullstack Development For Healthcare Software (React and Express)

In this project, students will be involved in feature development for a mental health software startup where students will be responsible for creating critical features relevant to our product. This project involves development of both frontend React features and backend Express features for a full stack software product. In this project, there will be development of key React features alongside integration of those key features into our growing codebase. The goal of this project is first to setup design docs, and then work on system design of those key features. From there, the project will revolve around implementation of the UI using React and integration of the new feature into the Express, Node.js backend.

Fullstack Development For Healthcare Software

The main goal for this project is to have students work alongside one another to assist in software development for a healthcare project where we'll be enabling students to get easier connected to therapists and mental health professionals. The main goals for this project will be to assist in development of frontend and backend features for one of our flagship product and contributing to our growing codebase. Students will be given the chance to create features and develop robust and dynamic frontends based on our UI as well as connect key features to our backned. At the end of the project, students will have the chance to participate in the first launch of the product and watch their specially created features get deployed. For this stage of the project, there will be an extra focus on development of the reusable dynamic components for communication features. The student will upload completed code to Riipen alongside a final presentation overview of accomplishments during the time spent working on the project.

Social Media Management for HealthTech Company

The goal of this project is to increase engagement and followers on Purple Lotus Technologies Ltd.'s social media accounts in LinkedIn and Instagram by creating content such as reels and static posts. The project should also focus on increasing brand awareness and getting more people signed up on the company's waitlist by coming up with and implementing a marketing strategy.

UI / UX Design & Prototype for Healthcare Software

Our company would like to explore further development of our healthcare software. We're currently looking for students interested in UX/UI design to assist in development of design for our flagship product. Our flagship product is designed to help students easily connect to therapists and obtain mental health support. This will involve: Conducting background research on our existing web application for the product. We are happy to provide a walkthrough and other resources to help bring them up to speed. Identifying key areas of our current website and what areas of focused might return the best results in a redesign. Learning and using various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as this is the latest and greatest tool currently available.
