education policy arts administration researchIn this fourth year Educational Studies course (EDST 4999: Experience, Inquire, Contribute II: Inquiry Project), students will explore various initiatives and careers that are undertaken within an educational context. This program, unlike the B.Ed does not qualify students to become K-12 teachers. This course is meant to inspire Educational Studies students to understand what can be done with their degrees.
Over the course, students will research various career areas that may be of interest to a graduate from the Educational Studies program. Some possible careers may include but are not limited to: Academic Principal, Arts Administration, Career Advisor, Curriculum Publisher, Educational Developer, Education Policy Advisor, HR or Corporate Trainer, Humane Education Manager, Librarian, Not for Profit Educator, Youth Program Coordinator.
We are currently seeking Project Partners who may want to guide students in a variety of capacities. Students enrolled in the course are motivated to use their degrees and expertise in educational foundations to make a difference in various sectors.
Students
Project Partners will work with a group of 5-6 students for a major project beginning in January 2024, although Project Partners will provide preliminary information to students during the Fall semester. Preliminary information may include the organization's background, a tour or readings.

Project Examples
Requirements
Students will explore the roles of Project Partners and can help to create tools and resources to support ongoing projects of Project Partners. Students may collaborate with a team within the organization or can be given a task that is guided by their partner. The involvement of the Project Partner can vary depending on the needs of the partner. Students can be available to meet and work on their project (asynchronous and virtual) up to 3-5 hours during most weeks. At the end of the course, students will prepare a presentation on their final output.
