Charitable Status Research Project
CityHive is a BC-registered not-for-profit organization with an annual budget of close to $1 million. We are currently looking to explore the pros and cons of applying for registered charitable status. By the end of the research project, we hope to receive a comprehensive report or presentation detailing the benefits and drawbacks for our Board of Directors and Executive to consider.
Branding/Marketing Guidelines Package
We are currently looking to improve the consistency of our branding across platforms and programs. While we have an established organizational logo, as well as several program-specific logos, we do not have clear guidelines for developing new marketing materials or for using those brand assets. We want to ensure that we have specific rules and tools to apply our brand components in a professional and design-friendly manner. We believe this project will require: Defining our brand voice and values to translate that into branding best practices and guidelines. Potentially developing new brand assets as required (logos, letterheads, e-signatures, etc.) Examining organizational communications and marketing needs and developing guidelines that appropriately meet them. Researching our brand’s history and vision to develop a consistent visual representation. Creating clearly defined guidelines for the use of our brand assets including logos and fonts. We want our branding to be a positive portrayal of our organization, which can be used consistently across a variety of media.
Prospective CRM Evaluation and Implementation
As our team and networks continue to grow, it is becoming challenging to manage our relationships and contacts in spreadsheets. We would like students to review our organizational needs, provide us with a comparison of the top CRMs available, and make a recommendation. Once the CityHive team has selected an option, the students should develop a training and implementation plan for the staff. To achieve this, you will need to consider: Organizational needs and constraints. Affordability/pricing. Core features. Limitations. Usability. Customizability. Implementation and training. Existing system integration. Students are to complete research on the above topics to develop a recommendation for our organization, as well as an implementation plan based on team feedback.
Website UX/UI Analysis and Update
Last year we moved our website to a new platform and have steadily maintained it with relatively up to date content. That said, we want to improve the readability and user experience of navigating our current Wordpress website. We believe the best way to understand our website’s usability is through studying the User Experience and User Interface, and making the appropriate improvements. We would like students to evaluate the effectiveness and usability of our website to identify ways to improve the user journey and improve content layout in ways that support our brand and our organizational goals. The students will be tasked with both identifying gaps, as well as offering solutions, advice and support with implementation. We are particularly interested in: Content flow Clarity of messaging Creating intuitive processes Consistent branding
