Regenesis Digital Engagement Initiative

Participants will create engaging content, manage social media platforms, and analyze audience engagement to increase awareness and participation in Regenesis's programs. By fostering connections with diverse audiences, the project seeks to inspire action and collaboration towards a more sustainable future. It also focuses on building a repository of creative content for long-term use, ensuring ongoing visibility and engagement.
Campus Sustainability Program Coordination
The Campus Sustainability Program Coordination project aims to support and enhance Regenesis Toronto's sustainability initiatives on campus. The project focuses on developing and implementing strategies to oversee operations, engage communities, and coordinate events for impactful programs such as the Borrowing Centre, Free Store, and Digin! Campus Agriculture. Participants will gain hands-on experience in leadership, organizational development, and sustainability-focused program management. The project seeks to strengthen and expand campus-based sustainability programs. By collaborating with the Chapter Coordinator, students will align project priorities with Regenesis’s mission and ensure strategic alignment in planning sessions.
Campus Engagement Initiative Enhancement
The project aims to enhance campus engagement by refining the process of organizing and executing on-campus initiatives. The current challenge is to streamline event planning and execution to ensure a seamless experience for the campus community. The project will involve analyzing existing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing improvements. Learners will apply their classroom knowledge in project management and event coordination to develop a comprehensive plan that addresses these challenges. The goal is to create a more efficient system for setting up event spaces, managing inventory, and coordinating day-of activities. This project will provide learners with practical experience in event management and process optimization, fostering a vibrant and organized campus environment.
YUM! Market Inventory Management System
The YUM! Market Remote Project aims to streamline the inventory management process for Regenesis Toronto's local market. The primary challenge is to efficiently track and reorder items, ensuring that the market operates smoothly on market day. This involves developing a system that can remotely manage inventory levels, notify when items need reordering, and facilitate seamless transactions with local vendors. The project will require learners to apply their knowledge of inventory management, database systems, and vendor relations. The goal is to create a reliable, user-friendly system that can be easily operated by market staff and volunteers. Key objectives include: - Developing a remote inventory tracking system. - Implementing automated reorder notifications. - Facilitating seamless vendor transactions. - Ensuring the system is user-friendly and reliable.
Digital Borrowing System for Sustainable Resource Sharing
Regenesis Toronto aims to promote sustainability by encouraging the efficient use of shared resources within the community. The goal of this project is to create and manage a digital borrowing system that allows community members to easily access reusable items. This system will reduce waste and promote the reuse of items such as tools, books, and household goods. The project will involve designing a user-friendly web application that allows users to browse available items, reserve them, and track their borrowing history. The system should also include an administrative interface for managing inventory and user accounts. By implementing this digital borrowing system, Regenesis Toronto hopes to foster a culture of sharing and sustainability within the community. We are looking for assistance in organizing a referendum campaign in support of our mission of empowering students as initiators of change in addressing today’s social and environmental concerns. We believe this project will include: Participating in campaigning training and campaigning during referendum dates Putting together research via our database for lecture schedules Delivering lecture announcements to classrooms about Regenesis, who we are, what we do, and why to vote yes for us Distribute leaflets, stickers, and other materials to students Attending tabling events to share with people more information about Regenesis, how to get involved and to vote for us
Circular Economy Initiatives & Events (Fall 2023)
The primary goal for this role is to lead and oversee the implementation of three key circular economy initiatives within our Reuse Centre: Free Store, Borrowing Centre, and Repair Café. These initiatives aim to eliminate wasteful practices, promote the principles of the circular economy, and contribute to a more sustainable and resource-efficient future. Additionally, the role involves marketing and organizing events to enhance awareness and participation in these initiatives.
Food Justice & Food Sustainability (Fall 2023)
Regenesis Toronto is a dynamic environment organization that implements community projects that support environmental sustainability and social justice at the University of Toronto. We currently operate a number of environmental initiatives on campus, including Regenesis Farmer’s Stand, a weekly farmer’s stand that offers a variety of produce from our garden and agriculture initiatives. The goals of the Regenesis Farmer’s Stand is to enhance food accessibility and promote sustainability that is environmentally and socially just.
Chapter Development (Fall 2023)
The primary goal is to develop local chapters by organizing meetings, networking with activists, creating promotional materials, and maintaining a website with support from the main organization. This includes initiating and overseeing local initiatives, promoting community engagement, and ensuring regular communication with the main organization. Collaboration with the main organization is essential, especially in identifying potential funding sources, all aimed at advancing Regenesis' mission.

Forest Conservation & Tree Planting
Regenesis is a community environmental organization founded in 2007, which acts as an umbrella organization and extended network for its local campus chapters and their initiatives. A key goal for the upcoming year is to enhance community engagement through tree planting projects across different chapters. Regenesis is planning to host at least 4 tree planting events this fall and spring at various locations across Toronto.
