Why we would love to partner with you: We are not Silicon Valley standard. Our tech, underserved markets, go-to-market, monetization and even investment options are not standard. We are what comes next. We are not, however, marketing pros - and we are a lean team. And we could use your help with aspects like identifying the best next groups to pursue and how to position for them (while taking into account the interesting challenges and opportunities that product utility driven by hyperlocal co-locality brings.) Very open to hearing your ideas for projects - those that best suit your learning & social purpose objectives, etc. Below are a few ideas that we have. A few ideas: Neighbors who want more interaction with their neighbors (~2/3 of us). By dint of tech requirements, we are just targeting this geographically. Should we be segmenting into groups like stay-at-home-parents, work from homers, housebound, retirees, gamers, etc. & how does that work with the need for each group of ~150 to have nearly 100% on-boarded for really great functionality? What are some great channel & organic acquisition strategies? etc. Schools. In some areas, the digital divide is a big issue for schools & will continue to be after people have returned to campuses . KYN is amazing for digital inclusion. We can help neighbors support private, secure and smooth Internet resource sharing, guardian devices and more. Which school areas in Kitsap > the Puget Sound would likely most benefit from this? What strategies should we use to position for, approach and partner with schools? Children's' Homeless Shelters. These are particularly densely populated & likely to need assistance with social grouping, empowerment, identity and more. KYN can help kids be safer & more resilient. What strategies should we use to position for, approach & partner with shelters or their endowment providers? Partner and grantor strategies . We hit digital inclusion, Save the Internet, Public interest tech, fintech for good, self-sovereign identity (UN declared right), civil society, resilience, happiness, entrepreneurship & more. Who should we really deeply be looking at now & for the next few years? How should we approach them? Web positioning suggestions for: General neighbor customers, Grantors/Philanthropists, Investors (maybe), Software Developers

KYN: The EPIC Journey Begins

If you like: root cause, system level solutions with massive TAM potential that support everyday needs and big social purposes and utilize bleeding edge tech, novel monetization and more have we got a project for you! Where we are with that: Right now we have the first set of core technologies built and are about to head into alpha with our first dApp, a dApp which is designed to help people make 3 close friends within a 5 minute walk & build those local webs of trust that drive everyday happiness and resilience. Why we would love to partner with you: We are not Silicon Valley standard. Our tech, underserved markets, go-to-market, monetization and even investment options are not standard. We are what comes next. We have a nearly infinite number of engineering projects we could use your help on. We do, of course, have some we need next. ;) Very open to hearing your ideas for projects - those that best suit your learning & social purpose objectives, etc. A few ideas: Signal hand-offs. A neighborhood will generally have dozens of wireless routers that can provide a signal to anyone, anywhere in the neighborhood. Setting up this sort of access on every wireless router is problematic. We will already have a facility to make micropayments to compensate people for roaming bandwidth, as they use whatever router is available. We need to explore a mechanism to smoothly hand off signals among dozens of distributed wireless gateways, without requiring individual configuration at the routers. Animated avatars and voice changers. KYN allows you to communicate pseudonymously to the neighborhood and to the world. If it is important to protect your identity, you cannot transmit your voice or picture to the other party. This is unfortunate because a lot of information is conveyed through tonality, emphasis, facial expression & body language. We seek to use a person’s webcam to animate an avatar which the other party will see when you are pseudonymous. Similarly, we would like to disguise the voice of the speaker. This work involves neural network creation & using the input from cam & mic to produce an avatar which conveys most of the information. Kyth. A peer network requires a way to economize the usage of resources. Compute, RAM, storage, and bandwidth can all be paid for with microtransactions utilizing a utility token. Kyth is the user generated utility token planned for this use by the KYN network. Each user generates a fixed amount of Kyth per day. These amount to ledger additions on a ledger shared by the community. Kyth will be primarily used for resources, but should be designed with general use in mind. ○ Kyth must be anonymously spendable. ○ Suitable for microtransactions. ○ Fungible with Kyth from other networks, and transferrable between networks via the Interledger protocol (or alternative.)

iPhone Port

With KYN (Know Your Neighbors) and the dApps (decentralized apps) we are creating on it, we have some fairly unique challenges: translating benefits usually targeted at enterprises to people for everyday uses translating bleeding edge tech geek-speak benefits to same interfaces designed around real world engagement - if people have to stay on a dApp to make use of its features, we have failed We also want to proceed in all things with social enterprise purposes in mind (digital inclusion, strong and independent identities, save the Internet, bring back the neighborhood, etc.) __________ Goals We would like to port our first dApp, designed around connecting people (whether they have homes or not) to three close friends within a five minute walk, to iPhone. We have a Droid version and are working on a desktop version.

KYN: The challenges

With KYN (Know Your Neighbors) and the dApps (decentralized apps) we are creating on it, we have some fairly unique challenges & goals: bleeding-edge enterprise level tech that we want to bring to neighbors to help them connect their lives and resources - from meeting and hanging out more easily to community supply chain and distro to community fintech and more - so, we'll need to: translate benefits usually targeted at enterprises to people for everyday uses (This is our first challenge and where we'll be focused for the launch of our 1st dApp.) convince grant audiences of the mix - that it is awesomely powerful and yet will be easy and useful enough to bring every neighbor on board - that it will support better inclusion for disenfranchised groups, civil society voice, resilience, etc. (We are reviewing grant opportunities right now and will be submitting some.) possibly convincing crowd, angel, vc audiences of same + the revenue potential (Not set on any of these routes for funding, just considering.) show businesses and developers the benefits - like this network of networks, that envisions and supports communities as enterprises, makes B2C-first a more viable route for more companies, is one of the coolest and most socially purposeful options to design apps for, etc. (This will be further on in the development of KYN and its dApps, but getting some groundwork set now.) Grow audiences in hyperlocal areas ( 150 person groups, located within 5 minutes or less walk s.) Internet is optional and this is about IRL off-screen connections. So our spread is highly geo sensitive and our plans - local > regional > national > international have to factor that in. We have so many potential routes to monetize this! It is a network of networks... sound familiar ? ;) ... but a novel Web3.0 environment and Save the Internet focused. So, no central hardware and zero exploitation ( Exploitation by us is not even possible, by design. Traffic is completely anonymous to us (but with community-safe anonymity.) ) We need to figure out the best monetization model to roll out with and the best few to focus on next. Should we pursue crowd-equity? The opportunity decentralization aspect is very appealing - very on mission. From opportunities to administration, etc. what are the likely pros and cons? Should we form a foundation? Lots of digital inclusion, strong identity, etc. uses - and we will be pursuing those. Donations are absolutely a route of interest for development funding. We would like to understand the benefits, costs, etc. of staying strictly SPC vs having both a SPC and Foundation Once proof of concept is achieved, we intend to partner with community groups - schools, organizations, developers, etc. We have several ideas in mind, and are wide open to suggestions. Identifying the best to pursue will help us a lot. We want to proceed in all things with social purposes in mind ( digital inclusion, strong and independent identities, save the Internet, bring back the neighborhood, etc .) Help with any and all of the above would be amazing.

What should we pursue now and in the 1-3 year time-frame? What options provide the best revenue sharing potential for our communities? Due to the nature of the networks and broad spectrum utility, we are mainly targeting geographically. However, we would be interested in some analysis of the best neighborhood makeups to target for rapid adoption, easier communication, greater needs (which neighborhoods are loneliest, least resilient, etc.) and similar. Our planning might include consideration and even research of potential partnerships with community organizations, developers, schools and similar. We will be pursuing some after proof of concept is achieved. We have several ideas in mind, and are wide open to suggestions. Identifying the best to pursue will help us a lot.

KynGarden Launch Planning

Once alpha is to a successful state we want to roll out beta to more neighborhoods in our area. As we progress to beta, we'll start signing people up for pay-what-you-will subscriptions. From there, we'll be doing a broader launch throughout Kitsap. From alpha to full launch, we could use help planning for a boots-on-the-ground organic spread approach for this wholly digital product set. We could also use evaluation of our potential monetization options. Note: The planning might include consideration and even research of potential partnerships with community organizations, developers, schools and similar. We will be pursuing some after proof of concept is achieved. We are open to suggestions.

KynGarden Alpha/Beta Branding

Once alpha is to a successful state we want to roll out to more neighborhoods in our area. As we progress to beta, we'll start signing people up for pay-what-you-will subscriptions. We'll need some really good branding and ideas for a boots-on-the-ground approach for this wholly digital product set. Neat future project We also want to work on building a project around digital inclusion for school attendees. ( A lot of school goers are getting left out of the shift to digital right now, not having excellent access at home. KYN provides an opportunity for people to safely, securely, privately and without any fuss share around their network resources - even earn community points and similar. We would like to shop that around this year. Excellent, social context sensitive branding will be a must. )

Give KYN a Voice!

At Web42, we believe in the power of voice ( especially the vox populi. ) Right now we are working to get our first dApp ( decentralized application ), KynGarden, to alpha. Going forward we would like to develop several routes for largely organic marketing that will support its growth and Web42's social purpose. To this effect, we are interested in creating a vlog or podcast related to topics like neighborhoods, the rise of local, public interest tech, civil society, social sciences ( especially group theory and governance ) and similar. We would love to partner with you to: - Assess what format to use ○ Best for topics, strained time resources, etc. - Work some awesome content - Maybe have some voice-overs and interviews done by you - Work on social media related to this This project is really grassroots meets bleeding edge public interest tech-centric. We would especially love to partner with people who will be really excited about contributing to that.

Open Source Tools Research

We serve neighborhoods. We are a tool for communities and we cater to the ultra private. We would like to experiment with using a private Tor network hosted by members of the community. We would like to experiment with making the routes provided by the network discoverable by public collusion for a very short amount of time (<24 hours). We seek your help to test feasibility and analyze the design for weaknesses. You may focus on the proposed solution and refine it, or provide well reasoned alternatives. Our goal is to allow routes to be unmasked if the request is made to the whole network, and if the participants agree to cooperate. We have a proposed design to achieve this, but we are always looking for a better way to build the mousetrap. We will share the specific details of our proposed solution when the task begins.
