Information Systems Analysis & Recommendations

The goal of this project is to create a comprehensive plan for the integration of a new financial technology service into our existing accounts receivable process.1. The challenge will be understanding and communicating the technology to business stakeholders, including identifying where it fits in the process, and how to integrate it with appropriate change management processes. As a bonus (time permitting) the student can analyse and make recommendations on how to integrate the product with the ERP.2. Success will be the delivery an presentation of an achievable plan that is understood and accepted by the business sponsor of the project. This plan should include timelines, resources, technology dependencies, and budget where applicable. A bonus would be if the student is comfortable creating a pilot or demonstration of the technology to the business sponsor and group.3. Our organization is one of Vancouver’s SMB success stories. A family run business, we’ve grown to more than $200 million in revenue, 500 people and have offices across Canada. Our organization is in the wholesale medical supply industry – we sell everything a dentist needs to build and operate their business. Our type of business represents the hundreds in Vancouver who are more traditional and welcome technology talent that can help transform their existing operations and prepare them for the future. This is a large segment of the hiring market outside of software development.Further, as the project focuses on implementation of digital financial technologies, a student will have the opportunity to learn and speak the language of finance; this is also exceedingly valuable on a resume.Finally, working directly with the business sponsor but supported by the Director of IT, the student will learn to communicate with the business - another opportunity which is not typically available in larger technology-based organizations.
